Transcription Correction and Verification

The purpose of this task is to view the caption information available on the image and verify that this has been transcribed correctly in the text field.

Please ensure you understand how to identify caption information in the below examples and Tag Tips. If you don't know what a caption looks like you will fail the task.

If you identify a mistake correct it. It may be that there is too much information in the text field such as Photographer Name, Picture Date, Order and Scan Numbers. Delete the additional information but keep the caption.

If the image caption and transcribed caption are correct simply submit.

  • Handwritten captions often contain the following info D - (the Date of the Picture) S -  (The Scene THIS IS THE CAPTION) and P- (Photographer). Only transcribe the words that follows S
  • Do NOT transcribe photographer name. e.g. Corn/Staff, Photo by corn, CORN PHOTO etc
  • Do NOT transcribe photograph date.
  • Do NOT transcribe order or scan numbers
  • Some captions may be handwritten, make sure what you transcribe makes sense, it may be just a name.
  • If the caption presented to you is in the form of an Article only transcribe the first and/or second paragraphs.
  • If the caption presented to you is in the form of a Media Release or Photo Release only transcribe the first and/or second paragraphs.
  • If you spot a spelling mistake please try to correct it, however you will not have work rejected if you fail to spot a spelling mistake and enter words as seen.
